New Hope Engagement Session – Jen + Trevor

Tell us about the proposal!
“For the past few years, we have been going to NYC during the holidays for a weekend with our friends so Trevor thought this would be the perfect opportunity. We are both very close with our families, so he knew they had to be there as well. Coincidentally, my dad was planning to be there that same weekend to set up the life-sized manger at St. Anthony of Padua Church in the West Village which he does every year. I’ve helped my dad out before with the manger, so Trevor suggested that we take off that Friday to help my dad out with the manger. We had a great afternoon putting up Christmas lights, and eating lunch at John’s Pizza with my dad and brother. As it got darker out, we decided to go home and start getting ready for dinner. We planned on staying at my brother’s place a few blocks away, but Trevor surprised me with a room at the Dominick Hotel. When we got to the hotel, the manager had escorted us upstairs saying that she wanted to give us a tour of our special suite. As we walked into the room, there were candles and rose petals everywhere and a bottle of champagne on the table. Trevor opened the big windows overlooking the NYC skyline. All of a sudden, he got down on one knee…and of course I said yes! The hotel manager got pictures and videos. I called my mom soon after, and found out she was also in the city and everyone was waiting for us at our favorite restaurant Villa Mosconi. When we got to the restaurant, everyone was there! My mom and dad, brother and his girlfriend. Trevor’s mom, brother and girlfriend. We had the BEST night together. The next day, all of our friends met us in the city and the celebrations continued all weekend long. It was truly the best weekend of our lives so far.”
